What to bring on your Conservation Placement?

- Sandals/flip-flops
- Sun cream
- Basic toiletry bag
- Sunglasses
- Projects Abroad Office contact details
- Money belt
- Breathable waterproof jacket (rainy season, May - September)
- Day rucksack
- Good guide book
- Towel
- A few good novels
- Swimming gear
- Water bottle
- 'Going out' clothes for the evening (if clubbing for example)
- Spanish Phrase book and dictionary
- World Plug adapter (Costa Rican plugs are the same as North American plugs)
- Head protection from the sun (e.g. a baseball cap)
- Small padlock
- Torch
- Light sleeping sheet can be useful for travel; your bedding at your host family will be provided
- Medical kit (including anti-diarrhoea treatment)
- Alarm clock / watch
- Address book

- Lightweight clothes
- Comfortable shoes to walk on the beach
- Torch
- Insect repellent containing DEET
- Sunscreen and a hat are important for this placement as you will be spending a lot of your time outside
